Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches

An integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices including:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It’s been extensively researched and shown to be highly effective for treating depression, anxiety disorders, phobias and PTSD.

Solution Focused Therapy

Focuses on strengths and solutions for positive change. It is a short-term approach that helps clients find solutions by focusing on their strengths and future goals rather than dwelling on past problems

Mindfulness Based Therapy

Focuses on awareness and acceptance in the present moment using mindfulness practices like meditation and body scans to help individuals change their relationship with their thoughts and feelings. These therapies have been shown to be effective for reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress

Cognitive Processing Therapy

CPT is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioural therapy specifically designed to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is one of the most researched treatments for PTSD. Numerous studies show it is effective, including in patients with complicated presentations, such as comorbid personality disorders and other co-occurring conditions.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

PE is rooted in cognitive-behavioural principles and aims to address the emotional impact of trauma by gradually exposing the individual to distressing memories and situations they have been avoiding. It is a well-established and effective approach designed to help individuals reduce the distressing symptoms associated with traumatic experiences.
